haha i fixed the original line, used synthetic division to get x=-2 and x=1

first you take the coefficients of the polynomial and take a number that you think will solve nicely into it. i picked 2 because 1,2,0 tend to work often on these kinds of problems
to start off, bring down the 1. multiply by 2 to get 2, and then add the column (-6 +2= -4), then with -4, multiply by 2 to get -8, add the column again to get -1, multiply by 2 to get -2, add the column to get 4, multiply to get 8. add the final column to get 0. if its not 0, try another number.
not since i started with 2, for the zero, you just take the opposite, so x=-2

find all zeros of the polynomial function;
f(x) = x to the power of 4 - 6xcubed + 7xsquared + 6x - 8

i am not stupid, i was just absent for the lesson and this is confusing :[

x=-2, 1, and 4

i used synthetic division to get x=-2 and x=1

and then i factored xsquared -5x+4 into (x-4)(x-1), therefore x=4

x=-2, 1, and 4
